On 17 October 2013, Sotheby’s London sold a painting by Giorgio de Chirico, Le Muse Inquietanti (The Disquieting Muses; late 1940s, oil on canvas, 90×70 cm, signed lower left “g. de Chirico”) during its 20th Century Italian Art auction for £398,500 (€472,000.00).
